Need some new tunes to get you through the weekend? Here’s what we’re streaming this week:
Bon Iver—22, A Million
Their first album in five years, Bon Iver’s latest is—according to Pitchfork— “distant” from For Emma, Forever Ago, yet the “strange and experimental” 22, A Million is comprised of “deeply felt songs about uncertainty.”
Solange—A Seat at the Table
A quietly powerful second LP from Solange, who told Stereogum in a lengthy, worth-the-read interview, “I set out to make an album about self-discovery and empowerment and independence.”
The British band’s second LP, according to Rolling Stone, “marries 20th-century rock songcraft and EDM-pop vernacular with an eye on stadium rocking and dance-floor remixes.”
The Broadway-turned-film star puts out an album that mixes soaring ballads, pop tunes, and even a few dance tracks where Menzel clearly “excels as a storyteller,” according to Newsday.
